how to grill fresh asparagus?

Grilling asparagus will give it an intense char grill smoky flavor that is quite distinct from boiling or steaming.

Steps and to technique properly to grill asparagus on a gas outdoor or indoor grill:

  1. Take one bunch of fresh asparagus and wash thoroughly several times in warm water
  2. Trim off the end of each steam of the asparagus
  3. Place freshly trimmed asparagus in a large mixing bowl.
    Add in 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, pinch of salt and pepper.
    Coat the asparagus well in olive oil, salt, and pepper mixture.
    For a low or no fat option replace olive oil with non fat cooking spray
  4. Turn Grill on to medium heat and let the grill warm up
  5. Place coated asparagus stems on the grill. Grill 3 to 4 minutes each side or until the asparagus turns a richer green in color.
  6. Place grilled asparagus in clean bowl and lightly sprinkle grated Parmesan Reggiano Cheese on top.
  7. Enjoy the great flavor of your freshly grilled asparagus

*If you have leftover grilled asparagus place in a airtight sealed container like Tuperware and refrigerate. Warm up our grilled asparagus later in the microwave for a tasty treat. Grilled asparagus should keep for 5 days if refrigerated properly.
