how to sauté fresh asparagus?


Sautéing asparagus will deliver a clean and crisp flavor.

Choose fine, young asparagus for stir frying and sautéing.
If your asparagus is thicker, you may want to plunge it into boiling water
for a couple of minutes and then into cold water to partially cook before
stir frying or sautéing.

Steps and to technique properly to sauté asparagus on a range top stove:

  1. Take one bunch of fresh asparagus and wash thoroughly several times in warm water
  2. Trim off the end of each steam of the asparagus
  3. Heat a non-stick frying pan over a gentle heat and add a teaspoon of butter cook the butter until it starts to foam on your range top.
  4. Add the asparagus to the non-stick frying pan and toss in
    the butter for 3-6 minutes
  5. Plate sauté asparagus with salt and pepper

*If you have leftover sauté asparagus place in an airtight sealed container like Tuperware and refrigerate. Warm up our sauté asparagus later in the microwave for a tasty treat. Sauté asparagus should keep for 5 days if refrigerated properly.
